First of all “Wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year”. The new year has begun with new hopes, new ventures, new friends, new movies, new assignments, new thoughts ……… and many more . I am here to express and share my thought/confusion/perception/what ever you will call after reading the below ………… :)
As we all can perceive there will be physical aspects, mental aspects and spiritual aspects for every thing in the universe. Seems to me that Truth is something fundamental, something that is unchanging and is seen as the same from anyone's perspective. Reality, on the other hand, is based completely on our own perceptions, thoughts, environments and experiences in life. Our perception of Reality may be completely opposite of the Truth. When we say something is the Truth, or a fact, we are saying that it is so, regardless of perspective. But then, these so called Facts or Truths continually appear to be conflicting Facts/Truths in the world, particularly in areas such as religion, politics? Is one right, and the other wrong? Are they all right, or all wrong?
If we take a glance at the definitions of these two words,we will find them confusing, or I should put it as “I find it so”. In fact, Reality is part of the definition in Truth and Truth is part of the definition in Reality.
I have come across few lines while surfing the net about Truth and Reality. Here are the lines:
"Reality is relative and finite.
"Truth is universal and eternal.
"Reality is a truth, with a small "t".
"Truth, with a capital "T", is independent of any reality, it includes all realities.
I tired my luck by going through some historic contexts of bhagavad gita just to see if I can arrive at a conclusion on Truth and Reality, I came across few new words like absolute Reality, Maaya, Illusion and so on in the context which goes as:
“Absolute Reality, situated somewhere beyond the cosmic Illusion woven by Maaya and beyond human experience as conditioned by Karma. Both Tagore, the renowned Indian poet and Albert Einstein, the famous scientist, agreed on this conclusion. Absolute Reality, in their minds, was beyond human perception.”
“The Vedanta school of thought deals with the concept of Brahman the ultimate Reality that is beyond all logic and encompasses not only the concepts of being and non-being but also all the phases in between. It is one of the most difficult concepts in the entire Indian philosophy. At the highest level of Truth, the entire universe of phenomena, including the gods themselves, was unreal -- the world was Maaya, Illusion, a dream, a mirage, a fragment of the imagination. The only reality is Brahman.”
Wow that was Greek and Latin for me .......... :D
But after going through these, well here I am again all confused with so many different definitions and various annotations.Well the quest about Truth and Reality still exists in me and may be it exists in each living being on this EARTH.Each one of us will have our own perceptions about these words and their inner sense. How ever, for now.... I have come to a conclusion that I am being too philosophical and considering my present state( I don’t mean physical state, its MENTAL state) I am a mere beginner in this journey of Truth and Reality. So I guess it would be better for me to take a break from this topic right now and carry on with the present Truth and Reality that I see right now in my perspective. Wat say ppl?? :)
